I’m only half joking when I say that my swimsuit drawer could be classified as its own tropical island: it’s bursting with color, wildly lush with florals, and infused with a mysteriously exotic vibe. It’s a chaotic little ecosystem of patterns, cuts, and questionable impulse buys that whisper of past summers and optimistic shopping sprees. The reality? Every year, I approach swim season with the same wide-eyed wardrobe recalibration. I tune in to what others are wearing (on the beach, by the pool, or scrolling past me at lightning speed), check in with how my body is feeling (and, let’s be honest, looking), and rejigger accordingly. Not what that algorithm says I “need.” Confidence makes everything look better—every. single. time. So, while the drawer may be full, I’m still editing, and, yes, still buying that one new suit (or three!) that makes me feel just right—or, perhaps even better than the last one did. Here’s what I want to dive into this summer—along with the supporting cast.
