let's eat
I don’t know about you but I’ve been eating non-stop. Tis the season after all! At least, I’m indulging in style at see-and-be-seen restaurants from Santa Monica to Manhattan to Notting Hill (and sweating it all off at Burn in Brentwood: 45 minutes of cardio and strength under infrared lights). Have you checked out San Vincente Bungalows in Santa Monica yet? The two-story, members-only club with stunning ocean views debuted late last month. Surprisingly, it’s a striking departure from its West Hollywood sister outpost, trading the kitschy pink-and-green aesthetic for a sleek, sophisticated vibe that feels worlds away from both its WEHO roots and the laid-back beach scene just outside. There’s a spacious balcony and outside bar (complete with DJ and ample heat lamps) with a money-shot view of the sun dipping into the Pacific, along with chicest, palm-print carpeted screening room, quiet places to perch with your laptop or, as they do in LA, read scripts, and a resplendent all marble loo. It’s poised to revolutionize the way we Westsiders socialize, but perhaps even more seismically, it might upend how I dress for dinner on this (traditionally casual) side of town. Think trading in my trusty Margaux flats for sleek new cut-out Prada ballerinas and leaning into the idea of more: more baubles, more accents, more flair! Case in point: a pearl-trimmed H&M blouse (now sold out but this is a good sub!), layered with a Thatch Jewelry heart necklace, Dorsey emerald necklace with sapphire bead, Adina Reyter initial pendant and diamond beads.
