I’ve recently developed a curious habit of surreptitiously snapping pictures of well-dressed strangers. It feels almost compulsive, as though I am impelled to pin these fleeting moments to a real-life Pinterest board, preserving their style for my own future reference. On this occasion, it was her perfectly chunky, perfectly NYC-apple red cardigan that nabbed me. Oh, and how she finessed it with unexpected mauve-hued sweats and leather Mary-Janes. Her just-rolled-out-of-bed chic was spot on for the exacting $8 pour over at La Cabra in Soho. Since this sighting, I’ve canvassed the internet for this exact red cardigan to no avail, but then as fate would have it, Bally served up an edgy iteration on the runway in Milan yesterday that rallied equal excitement, one that’s certainly poised to inspire derivatives far and wide. I can already envision the sloping shoulders and puffed sleeves making their way into my wardrobe as soon as next week! (P.S. How good is Bally right now, especially these cult shoes?)
To fill the gaping red-cardigan hole, I’m eyeing this, this and this (sizing up for a roomier fit). And, behold, I am seeing even more red (and mauve) in my fashion future, thanks to Versace, Carolina Herrera, Maria McManus, below, all in-bound, next spring.
Even mere pops of red are hitting the spot right now.
The red bandana, above, is also hitting a new micro-trend: the bandana scarf, featured on Prada’s Spring 2025 runway, below. Wrap up right now in these options by Rise & Fall, Cuyana and Sandro.
Before I head out to snap more stealth shots, let’s pivot back to the present for a second, specifically to what I am wearing right now:
Anthropologie Buckle Blouse inspired by the pretty much sold-out everywhere Loewe! Again, size up!
Commense cardigan with a brooch-like button—the most efficient way to dress up for dinner out at my new favorite Coucou.
This coated H&M utility jacket, above, is letting me twin with the unassailably-stylish Caroline Issa!
Be back next week with more fall style inspo, specifically shoes and bags!
I will immediately be acquiring a cardigan with a brooch button closure. That is my favorite thing I've seen in weeks!
